Oh no. I’ve found a new place where I want to spend all of my time. This could be dangerous.
It’s called CookHouse, and it’s basically a dream kitchen and entertaining venue in the heart of San Francisco where you can host a party or dinner event for a bunch of friends without having to worry about logistics or clean up.
Why wouldn’t you just host it in your own home, you ask? Frankly, because I live in San Francisco, where my entire city apartment is the size of a master bedroom in any suburban house. (Okay, not really, but my kitchen is not this amazing… though I can dream.) Besides that, CookHouse offers perks like food delivery (just send them your grocery list), event management, and event hosting (welcoming guests, taking coats, passing hors d’oeuvres, etc) for an additional fee. Plus, it can seat up to 25 guests, the perfect amount for a large dinner party. And you don’t have to cook, you can hire a chef to come in, or you can even plan a cooking class event.
I think this concept works especially well in dense cities like San Francisco, but could still be successful as a nice dinner party venue in more suburban areas. Silicon Valley startups will eat this up (no pun intended) for group dinner events. I’m inquiring about hosting a gathering there in a couple weeks and will report back on the experience (and cost). Stay tuned.
